I had my babies in 2012 and 2014, and I remember how important it was for me to see and talk to other pregnant folks. The classes I lead now aren’t just about making sure you’re feeling healthy and prepared, they’re also about nurturing a safe container where y’all can exchange stories and resources and affirmations. Whether you’re signed up for prenatal yoga, or the peaceful birth workshop, or my group prenatal breastfeeding workshop, I hope you feel welcome. I hope you feel seen and heard. I hope you feel part of a community and a story that’s bigger than any of us. We do our best work when we bravely come together.
The Peaceful Birth Prenatal Workshop @deltagrooveyoga is for pregnant folks who would like to offer themselves a quiet, gentle evening devoted to listening within. This workshop is not a childbirth education or birth planning class, and it is open to all expecting people regardless of their birth preferences or plans. We will begin with an orienting practice, which can be used as you enter your birth space. Three types of gentle, pregnancy-friendly pranayama will give you strategies for making peace with your nervous system. We will refer to some valuable resources about the power of birth, consider befriending the self as a path to nonviolence, and then have journal prompts, a structured circle, and a guided meditation practice designed to help you connect to the growing child within. The workshop is an opportunity to practice consciously relating to feelings of uncertainty and embodying the power of feminine energy with grace.
Once a month I fill these chairs with expecting parents who want to learn about breastfeeding and prepare for postpartum! Drop some reviews of this class below! If you want in, register for an upcoming class at www.mymamabody.com
I love to hear alllll the little mammal sounds in this group @kindredplace901 !
The Inner Strength Postpartum Workshop is for anyone who has given birth is not currently pregnant. This workshop will include postures and pranayama for reinforcing a strong mind-body connection. Two thematic elements for the workshop are spanda (a shimmer, a pulse, a manifestation of divine vibration) and shakti (the divine feminine, creative potential energy). In addition to a short yoga practice, the workshop will include visualization techniques to amplify feelings of strength in the central channel - not only to integrate the muscles of the core but the energy of it, too. There will be prompts for guided journal exercises and a structured circle. This will be a baby-free space for you to connect with other postpartum folks in a quiet, authentic way.
