This is the group class I hope you won't miss if you're curious about lactation and breastfeeding. I encourage all moms to bring a partner or a support person (dads tend to love it and learn a lot, but some folks choose to bring their mom or sister or even a supportive friend who will be around postpartum). Register for one of the upcoming group classes, or book a private if you prefer! www.mymamabody.com
Doing this again, upstairs at @sundara_wellness ! You are welcome! We have all been wearing masks, and I teach in a mask and headset. Think about whether you’d like to breathe and move in community with other pregnant folks, and then commit to six weeks! We’ll do it together. ALSO: the flyer as published shows class ending at 7:15, but I really teach these until 7:45 - it's just a typo. So plan for 75 minutes if you're coming! Thanks.
Five beautiful moms and their partners came to learn about breastfeeding at @memphiswellnesscollective today, and while I’m exhausted from 90 minutes of animated teaching in a mask, I feel cozy and encouraged… because I’m doing the work I love and hopefully helping transform some of the hard parts of postpartum. I’m so proud of these people who made time to come and stayed masked and were respectful of each other and kind, good sports.
Hi moms! If you're looking to connect with me about what I do, here are some options:
I wish so many things were different by now! I know y'all are working hard to do your best, and so am I. I did a doula home visit and a lactation home visit yesterday, and an overnight shift last night. Yes I'm vaccinated, and yes I was masked in their homes. If there's a thing to do that might help us get through this next wave, let's do it. Let's keep living in the world, but be sensitive to the greater good. I'll be teaching my prenatal yoga classes at @sundara_wellness in a mask and headset again. Shout out to Nathalie at @veracityskinstudio for making my brows and lashes speak a little bit louder while the rest of my face goes mysterioso again. Choose your choice, but I thought I might share mine, in hope that it helps with momentum in my community. This is hard. We can do it.
This is a post about 1) @beth_s_76 Beth Shelton, Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LCSW, PMH-C, an awesome perinatal mental health resource right here in Memphis. We both really love supporting parents, and today I got to visit her gorgeous new office. 2) She is hosting my group prenatal breastfeeding workshop on August 11th! Please come, and bring your partner or a support person. Be vaccinated or plan to wear your mask. Register at www.mymamabody.com or DM me for more info!
