@memphismomco does this up BIG every year and it’s a fun night out! This event is a great way to be part of the community of expecting and new moms of Memphis, get some swag, and most of all, get some ENCOURAGEMENT. I’ll be there to provide support and resources as a sponsor, and if you’re feeding an infant, I’ll have seats by me and I’m happy to answer any questions I can on the spot! The @fit4mommemphis Fit4Baby group knows how to cut loose. I love getting glimpses into this community, one series group after the next. They’re supportive of each other, they’re funny, and they aren’t shy about getting a little extra on the mat sometimes. How bout it? These might be your people.
It’s the Tour of East Memphis, and my team sponsor is Birth, Babies, and Breasts! JK. Went to my first lactation counseling home visit of the day on the bike. I tell you what, I might not be for everyone, but the people who call on me for help know exactly what they’re getting and sometimes see me coming a mile away 😂. One more fun anecdote of my work? Last night I asked my yoga folks how pregnancy was feeling at the moment and one of the new people said, “I feel pissed, like pissed a lot lately.” HELLO YES I HEAR YOU. It’s ok to feel that as much as you feel like throwing up or you feel sciatic pain. G’head and speak that truth please. Cuss a little. You’re doing it right. Keep it real, folks. It’s too hot to be anything less, and so are you.

Renewed my certification today with @bestdoula - So much goes on behind the scenes! Every so often I think I need to scale back (it’s hard work!!) but then I get a boost, or a signal that it matters, and I keep doing what I know how to do. I’ve been the doula for a whole bunch of you!! Thank you for that. My heart has grown three sizes at every birthday party I’ve ever been to. I am grateful for the @memphisbirthcollective and the leadership of many fellow doula friends working hard to support positive birth experiences in Memphis. I’m not done yet! 💕
